John and Chrissy Rossi
John was born and raised in Ashland. He watched many friends become sick with various rare cancers and watched dozens of friends die young as a result of Nyanza's effects. Just like so many, John truly believed the clean up of the toxic chemical dump was fully completed. John spent years wanting to move his family back to Ashland, a town he loved growing up in because of the amazing people and close knit community. In 2013 John's dream came true, he and his wife Chrissy made the move to raise their two young boys Jack and Hugo to this town he loved so deeply. Shortly after this move, it was clear that not only are the toxins not cleaned up but people are still getting sick and they are young people. Chrissy and John felt a call to action to finish what was started and not stop until Nyanza's impact is fully cleaned up and joined others to form the Ashland Citizens Action Committee. Their worst fear is if Nyanza does not get cleaned up that their children and so many other young people so many decades after Nyanza will forever be facing the horrible effects of the Nyanja toxins. To John & Chrissy Rossi, that is not an option! They will not rest until the full clean up is done!
